When he looked around, he realized that people are actually in a state of mind where they are themselves not aware as to what they want to do, what in life is their aim and what satisfy them. It was quite obvious that most of the people were only, in a way, living a life which would let them speak with pride that they are associated with a particular brand or a very well established company.
As these thoughts were passing through Sahil’s mind, he heard someone outside his window, by now he was in his room. He peeped and noticed a man in a coat which seemed so old as though it was not dry cleaned for about a year. He called out, “Hallo Sir, can I help you?” The poor man simply looked up and started walking in the opposite direction of Sahil’s house.

It was a Sunday morning and Sahil, as usual, was getting ready for his morning walk to the Roger’s Park. As he tied his shoe lace something came in his mind which made him stop and think. He took a re-look at the newspaper headline, “One more dies due to extreme cold.” After reading the article Sahil was shocked to realise that the man who was outside his window last night was the same old man whose news has been published. He felt that he was also responsible for this to a certain extent and that he could have insisted the old man to know his problem which was certainly the extreme cold weather.
It was four weeks since the news of the demise of the old man, however, it had left a great mark on Sahil’s life and his life was no normal like before. Everyday he would have to be reminded about the meetings regarding the launch of the new product. He was a Product Manager of great caliber but was not being able to concentrate after the incident.
Sahil’s secretary reported to his boss that Sahil was not in the office since last week and that he was unreachable. His boss called for a meeting immediately where in all the officials of the product which Sahil was handling were present. They were about to take a decision of removing him from his position and handle the project to someone else but before that Sahils’s secretary came in with a note given by a man outside their office.
The note read, “We spend about 2% of our Net Profit in CSR Activities, (Corporate Social Responsibilities), publish it in magazines and get satisfied, that’s it! We never understood that when we lavishly spend our earnings, some people or rather, some less fortunate ones suffer the bitter cold and the extreme of climates. Without much say, I, Sahil, President of the ‘Being Kind’ group, would like to invite you all to its opening ceremony. (Attached, resignation).” \m/
