Strong and Weak

Its not that people only from one particular region are harassed or used for making fun, its not tat only women are harassed or taken advantage of, its not that only boys/certain men are taken for granted and then later abused, or its not that religion, place, caste or creed plays a role for the wrong to target his potential victim but its only because of one and only one reason and that is being weak.

If one is weak, anybody who thinks that there is a pleasure by disturbing his/her peace will do it no matter from what background he/she comes from, whether a NE Indian or a South Indian or a North Indian.

I also read somewhere that North Indians are of the kind who enjoy looking down upon certain sects of the society and abuse them by calling them a South Indian or a Chinese, the same happens with them wen they go to other parts of the country and are faced with similar kind of abuses but with a different set of words.

Everywhere all kinds of people are available at your service, we need to understand when to react and wen not to and in what way. Changing the mindset is very difficult but at least we can learn gradually to respect each other and have the humility to listen if that is doing some good to someone, somewhere. Every time sounding big and proving, "oh yeah, I am not the weaker one, so why would I hear this", will only make the situation worse. And why do people start giving comments like oh yeah India is bad and stuffs like that? Are we not responsible? Somewhere I read, "I am also shy to say that I am an Indian." Its only in India that we get to voice our feelings up-to this level.

Key is to take a step forward and leave the narrow minded thinking and start thinking in a different way. Developing patience helps one clean his mind positively.

I read articles on different websites and felt an urge to write something of this sort. I believe, if we start pondering upon all these issues at our own micro level, it will change the thinking and it will not be difficult to understand the matter at hand and in near future we will not only talk when such matters develop but come in front and do something more important. The Right Girl was actually the “Right Girl” - Fiction

Raghvan hardly talked to his Parents and would call once a week to know how they were. It was the time when his marriage was being arranged. The number of calls per week has started to increase as the day of his wedding was approaching. Parents were happy and believed it is the marriage which is doing all the good.

Raghvan’s parents were very excited for the event as it was their first son’s wedding and were very hopeful that the new member who will be joining them soon will be very understanding, good-natured and will possess all the other characteristics which are wished for in a bride. They were really happy. The arrangements took no time and the wedding day arrived.

…..................................After few weeks of Marriage...............................…...

Now, Raghvan would hardly call his parents for weeks. This made them look into the matter as it was all destined to happen and that the “new girl” who was married to bring happiness for them was responsible for all this. It was she who was moulding their son’s mind and was planning things against the family. They thought even if their son was busy the bride should call atleast once a day. All these developments made them question their own selection of ‘the right girl’.

…..................................After 3 months of Marriage......................................

“Why aren't you calling Uncle and Aunty?” Neema asked. She was feeling bad for Raghvan had stopped talking to his parents completely. He would call them once in a month and whenever they would call he avoided them by claiming that he his busy and had no time to talk.

Neema thought it was wrong and the parents deserved a lot better. She gathered all her courage and started calling them daily against the will of her husband. It was Raghvan who had warned Neema from talking to them. She felt disgusted about this idea of her husband and without caring much she talked to her ‘new’ and loving parents daily.

The parents gradually learned that it was their son who did not want to talk to them. He was the one to be blamed and not Neema. Things were bad but they were happy that the right girl was actually the “right girl”.

My point:-

A man behaving differently after getting married is thought to be the after effects of a girl entering his life. If he stops calling his Parents as he used to then it’s assumed that it must be the lady who is making all this happen; it must be she who is responsible for all the wrong things that have suddenly started to take place in their family. It’s the lady to be blamed without even using an ability which God has gifted to every human being on this earth with the help of which one can know what is right and wrong, the human brain.

Many of us are preoccupied and prejudiced that it’s always the girl who should be blamed at and after marriage if anything goes wrong then it’s the lady who should be blamed. If we learn to accept our own mistakes we will be able to justify what is right and what is wrong, who is correct and who  is not.

There is every possibility that because of the stereotypes the wrongs can take advantage and make our lives no less than hell. We must learn to be aware of and prevent ourselves from accepting truths which are false. (\m/)

"Gallant Mona" - Fiction

...and he returned to his house and saw that the things were not at place. His wife explained that she got busy in other important works and so did not get the time to arrange the rest of the things. Exhausted from the daily routine of his office he was unable to take this too simply and let go. He called out for dinner which was not yet cooked. This acted as a catalyst to worsen the situation and the man stared at his wife for whatever she has done or she has not done in a way.

The dinner was ready, both of them had it quietly without uttering a word. She went to the kitchen and returned to the room after washing the dishes with a glass of milk for her husband, or her Lord (according to the Indian mythology). Lord gulped it in no time and switched off the lights. He called out his wife with a sudden change in his tone (friendly) to lie down beside her. She was tired after the day long household chores, however, she could not refuse her 'Lord'.

.
...............................................months later...............................................
.

He returned from the office, again with the same frustration. The house was very well at place this time as it was required to be. Dinner was, as usual, a silent event that took 'years' to finish. It was the time when the day seemed the longest (not mentioning about the nights).

She came to the room after washing the dishes and stood beside him not with a glass of milk but with a paper on which there was a stamp of the Legal Judiciary of India with her signatures on it. He stood up on his bed, this time with the same kind of frustration which he carries back home at night after facing and knowing the reality of his own self.

.
...............................................months later...............................................
.

Mona was with her friends sitting on a big rock in the middle of Eco Park (Shillong), reliving her College Days and discovering herself once again, the true strength she possessed as a being. (\m/)
