'It' Certainly is Possible!

...people got killed in lynchings, girls got molested in Assam, Bangalore (when it came in news few years back), raped in Delhi, Hyderabad, Unnao (now and then).

The one thing which is common in all these incidents is that the perpetrators have been from one category called 'MEN'.

Policy makers, if willing to bring some change can very well pass some strict laws which might improve the situation as they did in one stroke while removing the special status of J & K (where till today internet is down, start-ups are being forced to close down due to no internet connectivity as internet acts like oxygen for the start ups, quoted in the most read Newspaper, The Hindu), but they are seemed asking for suggestions from the MPs which they din't while scrapping the Article (not against scrapping but methodology was questionable).

That is a totally different issue, the point which I'm trying to make is that if people sitting in the Parliament are willing to make some serious decisions claiming 'in the interest of the Nation', they can very well do so in cases relating to rape too, however, they are openly showing their unwillingness in making some strict laws, ammendments.

Why not ban boys/men outside after 7:00 PM or why 7:00 PM, ban by 5:00 PM during Winters and 7:00 PM during Summers?

Why not put sanctions on people who give absurd statements of why rapes happen?

Fact is, nothing will change, only we can bring the change! Like I stated earlier wherever we are, we need to be alert and focused and not trust anyone at all and the need to carry some kind of self-defense 'articles' is at the peak.

I was watching one angry lady speaking that let us lynch few boys who are of no use and keep passing comments (the usual Manchale), as girls are dying daily, why not few men too for the Nation and that when 20-30 girls would unite and lynch few boys who they feel threaten their existence, probably it is only then such incidents would stop (she was spilling out her anger but we need to understand the seriousness when a girl is dying everyday).

On a serious note, we need to be alert and active leaving behind our passive attitude that 'hamare saath thodi na hua hai, na hoga kabhi.'

We have to understand that even if it won't happen we are also responsible in a way or the other and thus, have to take the responsibility of improving the situation in our own ways, by taking the smallest but significant step towards curbing such menace in our society. \m/

Another Nirbhaya - The Gruesome Acts Continue Even After 7 Years of Massive Protests!

...I had been inactive since a long time but today I cannot stop myself from expressing my grief and anger. (Some people will say what difference will it create if 'I' write something about anyone).
We are people with no significance but my dear friend, when a lot many of the insignificants showcase their insignificance, it becomes very much significant.

I totally fail to understand 'what stops the Political Parties, any party, during their tenure from making the horrendous crime, Rape, a crime for which no mercy is shown, no trial is required, nothing - just hanging the barbarians becomes the ultimate law?'

Why is that people who commit the crimes still have the option for pleading for mercy in front of the first citizen of our Nation, why?

Why not the representatives of the people pass a unanimous law declaring such crimes as unpardonable when they can pass many other laws and it is certainly in their hands, no human rights, nothing! Question is why???

People go out, protest; people like us write, it ends! But, the ladies who will be suffering the same kind of torture won't end!

Every time I end with a positive note but today I read an article that the 2012 culprits are yet to be hanged, in fact, one has applied for mercy! Unbelievable!

I hope some example is set this time as a result of which the perpetrators will get an idea about their fate for getting involved in such disgraceful and shameful acts.

Sportsmen Always Win!

Ater a long gap watched a game's final, Bronze Medal Hero Hockey World League match between India and Netherlands and it left me with a feeling of Pride and Respect for the Indian Hockey Team.
But, it also hurts when they are presented a small amount as a token for being the Man of the Match or the Medals for their win over the opponent who probably will receive a greater amount (probably) from their Govt.
The reward may be less by the sponsors for these great sportsmen but the sportsman spirit will always keep them higher as they play for their Country with all they have and with all their heart. Jai Hind! \m/

Religion...Only Unites. Period!

He went there to sit but he found no place to sit... He looked around and saw two men fightin... He thought to intervene but was afraid to do so... However, with some guts, he approached to them and enquired about the situation. What he heard was really terrifying for him.
They were fighting over a petty issue, RELIGION!
I might draw disagreement by calling Religion a petty issue but if we think deeply, if we really understood what Religion is (I also don't), we would never fight or have bitter feelings for people on the basis of Religion only. But, thank God, I understand situations and can reckon what is right and what is wrong. Thank you Lord! \m/

We and Our Views Matter!!!

There are many incidences of hatred in the world, most of them doesn't affect us directly but, indirectly, it does.
If we are unable to change anything or do any good about it, then we must also pledge not to build and plant ill ideas in the minds of the youngsters/children who are around us, but happy and innocent. Let us not fill them with ideas of hatred and dislike for we are also not at a level to understand the truth and correctness of anything which is being heard/seen.
Let us, but talk about the possibilities of 'goodness' around us and make them feel that they are a part of a beautiful world. Let us thrive to build, if not a better World/Nation, but at least, a better surrounding. \m/

She can 'Win' - Yes, its possible!!!

'She' is, but not only to give birth in this world; not only to take forward your bloodline; not only to tackle problems of household/housekeeping, and she has also not taken birth so that she can listen to your heartless words after daylong of tiring 'ghar ka kaam'.
She has actually taken birth for something big, which if we let her pursue, she will surpass every possible record.
Let's not stop someone from expressing their views only because she is a woman. Let us be strong enough to accept the fact that we can also be defeated and that too by a 'woman'. \m/

"Sahil's Call" - Fiction

When he looked around, he realized that people are actually in a state of mind where they are themselves not aware as to what they want to do, what in life is their aim and what satisfy them. It was quite obvious that most of the people were only, in a way, living a life which would let them speak with pride that they are associated with a particular brand or a very well established company.

As these thoughts were passing through Sahil’s mind, he heard someone outside his window, by now he was in his room. He peeped and noticed a man in a coat which seemed so old as though it was not dry cleaned for about a year. He called out, “Hallo Sir, can I help you?” The poor man simply looked up and started walking in the opposite direction of Sahil’s house.
.
.
.
It was a Sunday morning and Sahil, as usual, was getting ready for his morning walk to the Roger’s Park. As he tied his shoe lace something came in his mind which made him stop and think. He took a re-look at the newspaper headline, “One more dies due to extreme cold.” After reading the article Sahil was shocked to realise that the man who was outside his window last night was the same old man whose news has been published. He felt that he was also responsible for this to a certain extent and that he could have insisted the old man to know his problem which was certainly the extreme cold weather.

It was four weeks since the news of the demise of the old man, however, it had left a great mark on Sahil’s life and his life was no normal like before. Everyday he would have to be reminded about the meetings regarding the launch of the new product. He was a Product Manager of great caliber but was not being able to concentrate after the incident.

Sahil’s secretary reported to his boss that Sahil was not in the office since last week and that he was unreachable. His boss called for a meeting immediately where in all the officials of the product which Sahil was handling were present. They were about to take a decision of removing him from his position and handle the project to someone else but before that Sahils’s secretary came in with a note given by a man outside their office.

The note read, “We spend about 2% of our Net Profit in CSR Activities, (Corporate Social Responsibilities), publish it in magazines and get satisfied, that’s it! We never understood that when we lavishly spend our earnings, some people or rather, some less fortunate ones suffer the bitter cold and the extreme of climates. Without much say, I, Sahil, President of the ‘Being Kind’ group, would like to invite you all to its opening ceremony. (Attached, resignation).” \m/

"It Comes Back" - Fiction

As he entered the library he realised that she was sitting alone with some newspapers on the table. He said, "Are you alright?" "Yes, I am fine," she replied.

"You do not belong to our group Tia", were the words that were constantly making Tia feel that she is good for nothing.

It has been three months now that Tia's classmates have almost abandoned her and the common reason being that she could not clear her job interviews and thus was an outcast for the so called friends who already got a job.

Rohit was a person who always took things positively and always motivated everyone in his circle. Anybody coming to him even with the weirdest of dreams, Rohit always welcomed and listened to them without posing any kind of negativity. He believed that everything in life is possible to achieve and people have no right to tell or decide whether a particular thing could be achieved or not.

He kept on talking to Tia about how she can improve her communication skills and her knowledge. He always believed that Tia was a wonderful girl with great potentials but only if she continues the faith in her which she has almost lost after the reaction of her friends towards her.

It became so difficult for Tia that Rohit's words of kindness became frustrating for her and it started to sound as if he was trying to mock her. Rohit understood her state of mind and continued being with her with full belief that she is going to make it and that too in a much better organisation than her friends.

..........................................Five Years Later................................................

"Hey Tia," calls out Syra, one of Tia's friends in her circle who has come for an interview. "How have you been doing? We miss you so much! Have you also applied for this job?"

"Madam, the Interview room is ready as you have instructed, shall I start sending in the candidates?"

Tia smiled and went inside the board room with the list of candidates. (\m/)

Strong and Weak

Its not that people only from one particular region are harassed or used for making fun, its not tat only women are harassed or taken advantage of, its not that only boys/certain men are taken for granted and then later abused, or its not that religion, place, caste or creed plays a role for the wrong to target his potential victim but its only because of one and only one reason and that is being weak.

If one is weak, anybody who thinks that there is a pleasure by disturbing his/her peace will do it no matter from what background he/she comes from, whether a NE Indian or a South Indian or a North Indian.

I also read somewhere that North Indians are of the kind who enjoy looking down upon certain sects of the society and abuse them by calling them a South Indian or a Chinese, the same happens with them wen they go to other parts of the country and are faced with similar kind of abuses but with a different set of words.

Everywhere all kinds of people are available at your service, we need to understand when to react and wen not to and in what way. Changing the mindset is very difficult but at least we can learn gradually to respect each other and have the humility to listen if that is doing some good to someone, somewhere. Every time sounding big and proving, "oh yeah, I am not the weaker one, so why would I hear this", will only make the situation worse. And why do people start giving comments like oh yeah India is bad and stuffs like that? Are we not responsible? Somewhere I read, "I am also shy to say that I am an Indian." Its only in India that we get to voice our feelings up-to this level.

Key is to take a step forward and leave the narrow minded thinking and start thinking in a different way. Developing patience helps one clean his mind positively.

I read articles on different websites and felt an urge to write something of this sort. I believe, if we start pondering upon all these issues at our own micro level, it will change the thinking and it will not be difficult to understand the matter at hand and in near future we will not only talk when such matters develop but come in front and do something more important. The Right Girl was actually the “Right Girl” - Fiction

Raghvan hardly talked to his Parents and would call once a week to know how they were. It was the time when his marriage was being arranged. The number of calls per week has started to increase as the day of his wedding was approaching. Parents were happy and believed it is the marriage which is doing all the good.

Raghvan’s parents were very excited for the event as it was their first son’s wedding and were very hopeful that the new member who will be joining them soon will be very understanding, good-natured and will possess all the other characteristics which are wished for in a bride. They were really happy. The arrangements took no time and the wedding day arrived.

…..................................After few weeks of Marriage...............................…...

Now, Raghvan would hardly call his parents for weeks. This made them look into the matter as it was all destined to happen and that the “new girl” who was married to bring happiness for them was responsible for all this. It was she who was moulding their son’s mind and was planning things against the family. They thought even if their son was busy the bride should call atleast once a day. All these developments made them question their own selection of ‘the right girl’.

…..................................After 3 months of Marriage......................................

“Why aren't you calling Uncle and Aunty?” Neema asked. She was feeling bad for Raghvan had stopped talking to his parents completely. He would call them once in a month and whenever they would call he avoided them by claiming that he his busy and had no time to talk.

Neema thought it was wrong and the parents deserved a lot better. She gathered all her courage and started calling them daily against the will of her husband. It was Raghvan who had warned Neema from talking to them. She felt disgusted about this idea of her husband and without caring much she talked to her ‘new’ and loving parents daily.

The parents gradually learned that it was their son who did not want to talk to them. He was the one to be blamed and not Neema. Things were bad but they were happy that the right girl was actually the “right girl”.

My point:-

A man behaving differently after getting married is thought to be the after effects of a girl entering his life. If he stops calling his Parents as he used to then it’s assumed that it must be the lady who is making all this happen; it must be she who is responsible for all the wrong things that have suddenly started to take place in their family. It’s the lady to be blamed without even using an ability which God has gifted to every human being on this earth with the help of which one can know what is right and wrong, the human brain.

Many of us are preoccupied and prejudiced that it’s always the girl who should be blamed at and after marriage if anything goes wrong then it’s the lady who should be blamed. If we learn to accept our own mistakes we will be able to justify what is right and what is wrong, who is correct and who  is not.

There is every possibility that because of the stereotypes the wrongs can take advantage and make our lives no less than hell. We must learn to be aware of and prevent ourselves from accepting truths which are false. (\m/)

"Gallant Mona" - Fiction

...and he returned to his house and saw that the things were not at place. His wife explained that she got busy in other important works and so did not get the time to arrange the rest of the things. Exhausted from the daily routine of his office he was unable to take this too simply and let go. He called out for dinner which was not yet cooked. This acted as a catalyst to worsen the situation and the man stared at his wife for whatever she has done or she has not done in a way.

The dinner was ready, both of them had it quietly without uttering a word. She went to the kitchen and returned to the room after washing the dishes with a glass of milk for her husband, or her Lord (according to the Indian mythology). Lord gulped it in no time and switched off the lights. He called out his wife with a sudden change in his tone (friendly) to lie down beside her. She was tired after the day long household chores, however, she could not refuse her 'Lord'.

.
...............................................months later...............................................
.

He returned from the office, again with the same frustration. The house was very well at place this time as it was required to be. Dinner was, as usual, a silent event that took 'years' to finish. It was the time when the day seemed the longest (not mentioning about the nights).

She came to the room after washing the dishes and stood beside him not with a glass of milk but with a paper on which there was a stamp of the Legal Judiciary of India with her signatures on it. He stood up on his bed, this time with the same kind of frustration which he carries back home at night after facing and knowing the reality of his own self.

.
...............................................months later...............................................
.

Mona was with her friends sitting on a big rock in the middle of Eco Park (Shillong), reliving her College Days and discovering herself once again, the true strength she possessed as a being. (\m/)

Why?

Why is that the 'society' finds it very difficult to take it when a girl wants to refuse to a marriage as she is not ready or she wants some more time or she wants to study more etc etc but it is very "NORMAL" for the 'society' to accept the demise of the same girl after her marriage which was unsuccessful?

Why the premarital problems, rather, the pseudo problems like 'what people will say, what society will say' are taken so seriously by the Parents of such to-be married girls/boys who are not ready for marriage than the upcoming possible severe problems of her husband turning out to be totally difficult leading to divorce/killings or any unwanted situation that will develop are taken very casually? or why they are not thought of in the beginning only and are later blamed to the destiny of the unhappy married person??? (\m/)
